The everyday objects now have some sensors and communication capabilities. The ecosystem that allows the interconnection is known as IoT. Data flows between them and also across the internet.

That’s how you can pay for your burger using your phone without having to type almost anything. You may notice that this technology can lead to security risks, as someone can use your phone to pay for their bills.

Nowadays, Blockchain technology has a role in solving some security risks. Like any device that allows to realizing transactions, it’s always a good idea to have them secured.

Privacy is another big concern in the implementation of IoT. Identification of users before realizing any transaction can lead to security leaps. GPS and tracking technology show some of these problems when storing data. Your information can lead to tracking you back.

The home scenario for the Internet of Things

IoT can help you do some chores and speed up daily tasks. Think of maintaining track of your shopping lists, storing your playlist, and syncing all your devices. You can take a picture and then show it on your screen because data is in the cloud.

The idea is that devices can use the power of cloud computing to solve user tasks. Think of a music device that can access all of the collections of songs available on the internet.
You can switch on your home lights by pressing a button on your phone screen. You can program the calefaction system to warm your home before your arrival. The robots we used to imagine as mechanic servers now happen to be software and hardware.

The industry scenario for the Internet of Things

Machines can take advantage of online inventories to schedule tasks and processes. Tracking of packages can be done by reading sensors all over the route. Tracking the waste of tools allows us to purchase a replacement and deliver it on time to maintain continuous production.
Machines talking to machines can lead us to a 100% automatization scenario.

How do we get here

Its the combination of many technologies that allows us now to have IoT

  • Machine Learning

Today it’s still under development, working applications and fields are high.

  • Artificial Inteligence

As a consequence of machine learning and the development of Artificial intelligence, now we have a lot of devices that can predict user behavior and react to maintain a fluent conversation.

  • Cloud Computing

Getting a big part of data processing on the cloud leads to smaller devices. Devices are now capable of performing complex tasks.

  • Connectivity

Technologies like Bluetooth and wifi are now in almost every object. Connectivity allows the data flow between them and works as a team.
